Brammo's high-end model, the Empulse R, is a streetcar electric motorcycle with tracking and control of racing pedigree. Its Parker GVM motor delivers precise torque and speed, supporting 54hp/6,000rpm output and 66lb-ft of torque. With a top speed of over 100 mph, the Empulse R is described by the reviewers as "having exactly the same interventional performance as the internal combustion engine model, and it also adds a driving feel that the internal combustion engine model never achieves."
The drive's power source is the Brammo PowerTM BPM1590 battery pack, a 10kWh high-capacity lithium-ion battery that delivers 77 miles of cruising range in both urban and highway conditions. Its nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide battery guarantees at least 1,500 charge cycles and can be fully charged in 4 hours. At the heart of the BPM1590 is TI's newest battery management IC that continuously monitors critical battery parameters (voltage, current, and temperature) and stops charging and discharging when necessary, ensuring a safe customer experience.
The patented Impedance TrackTM fuel gauge algorithm in the battery management circuit not only monitors the amount of energy added to and consumed by the battery unit, but also calculates factors such as temperature and battery aging to accurately report the remaining mileage. Our battery balancing technology keeps all individual units in the battery at the same level of power, ensuring that a unit is not as weak as the other units over time, maximizing the life of the motorcycle. All of this will bring end users a pleasant, exciting and highly reliable driving experience.
